Pocket mode problem AGAIN

Sauyon
Star II

Hate to revisit this again but this shouldn't be an issue one year into the life of the phone. I have pocket mode activated and it still somehow always mess up some settings or send messages to random people while it is in my pocket. This was never an issue with my previous Android phones (Pixel, Nexus) yet it keeps recurring with the Zenfone 9. What's funny is that if I accidentally hold my hand over the proxity sensor the phone will tell me I have pocket mode on and I can't use the phone.

This is a Zenfone 9 with latest updates. Please fix it or just copy what Google does with their phones as I never had this issue before.

Hey @Sauyon,
Could you please share a log file?
Please follow the below steps to enable the built-in log tool (Bug reporter).
1.  Open “Calculator APP”
2.  Enter “.19595+=”
3.  Select the Log type according to the type of issue you want to capture. “General cases” will work for most issues.
4.  After your selection the log tool will exit so you can duplicate the issue or wait for it to happen. Try to use the screen recorder to show your issue when possible. If you can't screen record your issue, then please take a screenshot right after the issue has occurred (as a timestamp) so we know where to look in the log.
5.  Navigate back to the log tool via calculator and Tap "FINISH AND SHARE".
6. It takes several minutes for the log to generate. You can exit and do other stuff in the meantime. A silent notification will tell you once the process is done. Tap the notification and then the share button to upload the file to Google Drive and share the link with a moderator. Just make sure to change the permission first so that everyone with the link has permission to view it.
Note: When you're no longer planning on logging your device, enter “.09595+=” in the calculator and the log tool will stop as well as deleting all stored log files. Make sure to share via calculator. The files found in internal storage -> asus_log are not the correct files (they are only 1.2kb)

Also, can you please test if this issue continues to persist if you turn off AOD? Also, does the issue persist if you set a different form of screen lock such as a pattern?

Hi thanks for the response. Please see if you can find anything from the log.

Please note I do not have AOD turned on. I believe the issue only happens when I forgot to lock the screen before I put the phone in my pocket so my thigh is somehow accessing the various settings and apps, but I thought pocket mode is supposed to address issues like this.

The solution that has worked for many, including myself, has been to set the unlock method from just touching the fringerprint reader to pressing it. In my case, it has changed everything.

Thanks for the tip  I have already turned on pressing to unlock. I believe the issue is with me sometimes forgetting or believing I have locked my phone before placing it in my pocket. I thought pocket mode is supposed to deal with exactly this situation but somehow my thigh seems to be pressing all sorts of apps and settings
