Android 14 putting Zenfone 9 into endless boot cycle

After I upgraded to Android 14, the first time I rebooted, the phone went into an endless reboot cycle.

I forced it to turn off, then started it again and it worked.

Just now I restarted it, and it went into the boot cycle again.

I've restarted it 4 times, and each time it's gone into the boot cycle.

This seems to happen as soon as the SIM is registered and it connects to a network.

Is this happening with anyone else? Anyone at Asus know about this?

This has happened to me 3 times now since last week. I've had to factory reset each time to get it to stop. Does the same exact thing, once it connects to a network it restarts. If I have it in airplane, it doesn't, until the moment I take it off. Going to get a new phone since Asus won't address this.

@Jpn20  After this stopped happening, it hasn't happened since... I'm crossing my fingers that something happened that caused it to stop happening forever.   I'll let folks know here if it happens again, in any case.

Hey @tbessie and @Jpn20,

Has the issue recurred ever since? Can you provide a log for this issue?

  1. If this issue occurs, please take out the SIM card first.
  2. Go to the calculator app and enter .19595+= to enable the built-in log tool
  3. Generate "phone, mobile networks and signal" log.
  4. Insert the SIM card to test if the phone starts to reboot.
  5. Provide the log for analysis via PM.

Can you also provide some of the following information-

  • Please share your device's SN
  • Please mention the name of the network operator

@Mansi_ASUS It stopped happening after the first few days.  Not sure why that would be the case, but it did stop.  If it happens again, I'll come back here and post a log.

@Mansi_ASUS  This started happening again.  I'll send you the log.
