Zenfone 8 Security Updates!?

Are there seriously no more securtiy updates for the Zenfone 8? The last security patch was from November 2023! so almost one year ago! Besides the permanent fear of a sudden death of the phone like so many people reported here it should at least get current security updates! Or Android 14! Or an open bootloader!

Please, to the moderators, can you explain the update politics about this phone and if it's definitely abandoned by the developers? Btw. also the Zenfone 7 got updates for a longer period than the Zenfone 8.

I'd like to know about this issue too.  I am using this phone. It is a concern that should be addressed.

I don't think they will support the phone. They barely even support the latest ones.

As far as I know, and not long ago I reported to the Asus support assistant the same concern, because I have been using this same phone as my company phone, and I needed a lastest Android security patch installed in order to be supported and accepted by my company, and I was told no there will be no more security patch updates released to zenphone8. Of course I got very disappointed with this answer, but what can I do🤷🏻!

I am in the same boat. I had completely remove my work profile, because it requires security updates at most 6 months old.
