No unfortunately it didn't. I did a test today. I kept the phone in flight mode for several hours and set the refresh rate to 120 fps. Despite the enabled always-on display the battery didn't drop a single percentage. It started at 80% and several hours later it was still at 80%. So it looks like 120 fps doesn't hit the battery that hard if at all. Though I still hope they fix the issue of course.
