Zenbook 14 UX433FN Webcam stuttering

emsal

I noticed the built-in webcam of my laptop (Zenbook 14 UX433FN) stutters, i.e. it would rapidly alternate showing the current frame and the frames from a few seconds ago. It's a jump-scare horror movie kind of effect.
In Device Manager I see that my RealTek device driver version is 10.0.18362.20118 for a USB2.0 HD IR UVC WebCam. I'm currently on Windows Insider build 20197.
Thanks for all help in advance.

Hello emsal,
Sorry I'm a bit confused.
In the title you said the device is UX433FN, but in your BIOS it's UX434FL?
The latest BIOS for UX433FN is 310, and UX434FL is 304.
Please kindly check and update.
Also, please kindly enter safe mode to see if there is similar situation.
Thank you.

I think I must have gotten the model number wrong, my bad. I'll update BIOS and return with further information.

Okay, updated the BIOS
PS C:\Users\Em> wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion
SMBIOSBIOSVersion
UX434FL.304
However, the problem is still occurring (my webcam driver is still the same at 10.0.18362.20118)

Hello emsal,
In this case, I would suggest to have a hardware check on the camera.
Please kindly send your device to service center.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Thank you.

I'm having the UM425, also running insider build (20211) - and also have the same Webcam problem. I downloaded Ubuntu on a stick, booted from it - and the Webcam is just fine. Its a Windows insider issue. Please file as a bug there.
