I have posted this before but Replies are greyed out!

I have now found that this is limited to the Asus Zenbook 14 I have as my previous Dell Inspiron works perfectly, so it's not Windows.

We used to use WhatsApp on the laptop till an update in early 2025 when it suddenly started generating sound feedback echo. It works absolutely fine between phones - either android or apple, but trying to use a laptop  as the phone caller causes an  echo making the call unusable.

This doesn't happen with Messenger so I don't think it is windows. 

What settings do I need to change?

Based on the situation you described, if the issue occurs only in WhatsApp, we recommend first checking whether the audio input/output device settings are correct, disabling any audio enhancements or noise reduction features, or uninstalling and reinstalling the affected app to confirm. Thank you.
