Touchscreen nonresponsive after using hdmi

My brand new Vivobook Flip TP412FA touchscreen stopped working after I used an HDMI cable to my TV. I've followed the 5 steps outlined in ASUS Support (clean screen, uninstall driver, reinstall driver, update BIOS, etc. and even performed a factory reset and it's still not working. Any ideas?

Do you have another device to connect to? not a TV, maybe a monitor?
Also, if you switch to different project mode, does the touchscreen wrok?
