Looking for some advice!

I want to buy a laptop and I found these two:
Asus Vivobook 15 M1505YA,
Asus Vivobook 15 M1502YA.

Basically they are the same except the 1505 has an OLED screen but I dont know if it is worth getting it since I am a heavy user i can get it up to 10ish hours a day. I will mainly use it for college (MS Office, Visual Studio, light use of solidworks and blender in free time) and also some light gaming like valorant and such. And also I dont know if an OLED screen can last at least 4 years since I've never owned one.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @judeer just a short intro my name is Sanjeev Mansotra, before purchasing a laptop go through different brands and configurations, etc.

The Asus Vivobook 15 M1505YA with the OLED screen offers richer colors and better contrast compared to the standard LCD screen of the M1502YA. However, if you plan to use the laptop for up to 10 hours a day, OLED panels have a potential risk of burn-in over time, especially if static elements (like taskbars or toolbars) are displayed for long periods. For general use and light gaming, the OLED screen would provide an immersive experience, but long-term durability could be a concern.

If your main focus is productivity, and you prioritize longevity over visual quality, the M1502YA might be a safer choice. However, if you want the best visual experience for gaming or media, the OLED model is attractive, as long as you’re mindful of screen care.

Either way, both models should handle your academic tasks and light gaming well. If the longevity of the screen is a key concern for 4+ years, the LCD might offer more peace of mind.

Both the Asus Vivobook 15 M1505YA with the OLED screen and the M1502YA are great options for your needs, but the OLED screen offers several advantages, especially for heavy users. The vibrant colors and deeper blacks can enhance your experience with media and design applications like SolidWorks and Blender.
