Critical Issue with Windows 11 Update (KB5051987) on ASUS Vivobook M1505YA

Dear ASUS Support Team,

I am experiencing a critical issue while attempting to install the latest cumulative update for Windows 11 (KB5051987, Version 24H2, x64) on my ASUS Vivobook M1505YA laptop. The update either gets stuck during download, freezes during installation, or fails completely. However, the most serious issue occurs when I shut down or restart the computer after attempting the update.

If I restart my system, it enters the "Updating Windows" phase but never progresses. It remains stuck for hours, preventing me from accessing Windows entirely. The only way to recover is by forcefully shutting down the device, which is not a viable solution.

Troubleshooting Steps Attempted

I have already tried the following without success:

Clearing the Windows Update cache (deleted the SoftwareDistribution folder).

Running the Windows Update Troubleshooter (no resolution).

Performing SFC and DISM scans (sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth – no corruption detected).

Manually downloading and installing the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog (installation failed).

Performing a repair installation of Windows 11 (issue persists).

Since this issue occurs specifically with my ASUS laptop, I am concerned that there might be a compatibility issue with ASUS firmware, BIOS, or drivers.

System Details

Model: ASUS Vivobook M1505YA

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7430U with Radeon Graphics (6 cores, 12 threads)

RAM: 16 GB

BIOS Version: American Megatrends International, LLC. M1505YA.306 (dated 01/10/2024)

OS Version: Windows 11 Home (Version 24H2, Build 26100)

Storage: Micron_2400_MTFDKBA512QFM (512 GB SSD, 476.94 GB usable)

Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this? Is there a known conflict between ASUS devices and the KB5051987 update?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I am currently unable to update my system properly.

Best regards.
