Very important security feature, for locate stolen phone! (Thiefs don't know every smartphone's key combinations to force shutdown phone, nor have time to take off the chip during a assault) ========================================
We're adhering to Android stock behavior, and like you say, a thief can remove the SIM or shut down the phone anyway, which makes it somewhat of a moot point. I'll pass your feedback on in either case. Thanks,
