Hey everyone, I just bought a brand new ROG Phone 7 (sealed box, not used) a couple weeks ago and I’m already running into some weird issues. The phone gets really hot even with light usage like browsing or watching YouTube, and if I play any game for just 10–15 minutes, the back feels super warm. At the same time, the battery drains way faster than I expected. I fully charge it to 100% and within a few hours of normal use, it’s already down to 40–50%.I thought maybe it needed some updates, so I made sure everything is updated to the latest version, but the problem is still there. It’s kinda frustrating because I bought this phone specifically for gaming and battery life, and right now it feels worse than my older phone. Is anyone else facing the same overheating + battery drain on their ROG 7? Is this normal behavior or should I be worried that my unit is defective?

Hello @abdullahstan
It’s possible that an issue occurred after downloading all the updates. I would recommend performing a factory reset, so you can check if the problem persists with a fresh install of Android.

A full reset honestly isn’t something I want to do right now because I’ve got all my stuff saved on this phone — my game accounts, social media logins, personal files, and a lot of data that would be a huge headache to back up and set up again from scratch. I’m worried I might lose progress or forget some logins if I go through with it. That’s why I’m hoping there’s another solution I can try first before jumping straight to a factory reset. Maybe something like clearing the cache, uninstalling updates, or any other fix that won’t erase everything? I’d really appreciate any advice on alternatives because resetting feels like the very last option I’d want to take.

Fez besteira em atualizar o dispositivo. Teria sido melhor mantê-lo no Android 13 para uma bateria mais eficiente. Mas tente formatá-lo em clean install. Good Luck.

Entendi talvez realmente fosse melhor ficar no Android 13 pela bateria mas já que atualizei , vou tentar o clean install para ver se melhora. Obrigado pela dica
