Hey everyone, I just bought a brand new ROG Phone 7 (sealed box, not used) a couple weeks ago and I’m already running into some weird issues. The phone gets really hot even with light usage like browsing or watching YouTube, and if I play any game for just 10–15 minutes, the back feels super warm. At the same time, the battery drains way faster than I expected. I fully charge it to 100% and within a few hours of normal use, it’s already down to 40–50%.I thought maybe it needed some updates, so I made sure everything is updated to the latest version, but the problem is still there. It’s kinda frustrating because I bought this phone specifically for gaming and battery life, and right now it feels worse than my older phone. Is anyone else facing the same overheating + battery drain on their ROG 7? Is this normal behavior or should I be worried that my unit is defective?

I understand a full reset is a cumbersome procedure but in some cases might solve the issues created by apps or software.
Please let me know if this solves your issue.

Hey, I've been using this ROG 7 phone since the day it was first available. After Android 13 it has been just downhills.
Android 14 was such a disaster. You can go a few pages like 10-12 pages back in the forum and can find all different types of complaints. Whole community was facing problems like battery drain, performance issues, heating of phone (personally without usage just in my hand in outside it was at 47°C, no phones goes to such temp.), WhatsApp crash and what not issue.
That's not all the problem. The main problem is the response from the Asus side. They're just saying no problem from our side and just to Format the device like now @Mattias_ASUS told you to. Personal I think that's just a bot account which just paste that and a few other paragraph of line and they don't report anything to developers.
Even after Android 15 nothing has changed. As for my device fortunately I've found a safe update version that's usable for my device. Still because of the heating reason my device's screen came out of the housing. Because of that when my phone recently fell just from a feet to the floor nothing broke but my screen is not permanently lit white from the side.
I'm going to change phone but will never recommend any to buy any Asus phone.

Dear @Saurav_7
I can guarantee you I'm not a bot, and all issues get sent to the devs, then again, some issues are actual issues and some others can be solved by a reset.
Even if the phone is sent out to a Service Center, the first step in troubleshooting is a reset to make sure it's not a software issue.
I'm sorry you are experiencing these issues but for the screen issue you are having please reach out to the service center as it there might be something else going on.

I have a lot of experience with this device. Has the problem been resolved yet?
