New Update Available .85

Rising Star II

Hey guys, a new update is available now firmware version ending with .85.

Personally (I think 100% of the forum members agree with this) I have stopped thinking it will ever get fixed on Android 14 at least. Sometimes idle temperature reaches 39°C as it's summer here but still other phones are not that high so it's still much bad comparatively.

Upgrade on your own risk. Those who are still on Android 13 it's advisable to not to upgrade to Android 14. Those who have already upgraded to Android 14 we have no option just to upgrade and make this sh.it. phone even worse.

Please drop reviews those who upgrade. My phone is now out of warranty as I bought this on the release date itself.

Trying to understand it, I run the adb shell top and sh /vendor/bin/grip_fpc_check.sh does not go down 99%

Does anyone have an idea on what to do about this?

I find this very interesting. The script seems to be something related with the AirTrigger buttons.

It specifically checks the functionality of the grip sensor, potentially linked to the AirTrigger buttons on this phone. Pressure-sensitive side as well. This might potentially be the issue afterall.

I see I see... that make sense... I posted back then that disabling Game Genie will reduce the phone's temperature... so thats why the temps was reduced

here's the link: BANDAID Fix on ASUS phone - ASUS - ZenTalk - 425747

I believe also directly disabling AirTrigger should also maybe be a fix, need more tests but currently seems to be a bit different, let me see if it's a flacebo effect

I think it could be because of the above that it drains the battery too quickly and overheats. Firmware .85
