zen screen and rog 6 portrait mode

hi, just recently picked up the zenscreen MB16ACE.  One of the first things I tried was connecting it to my rog6 and use in portrait mode only to find out it did nothing? Very strange it didn't simply work as these are both asus. Am I missing an obvious setting or something? The zenscreen is set to auto rotate but doesnt react to movement, I rotate my phone and all it does is rotate the image on the zen but not the orientation

I've even tried forcing something through the second screen app, still no love. Other suggestions welcome. Seems a right shame to not use it in portrait mode with a phone
