ROG Phone 5 WiFi and Hotspot not working

Asus ROG Phone 5. Bought in 2021. Warranty expired in June 2022.

Was having a gaming session yesterday with no problems whatsoever until suddenly the phone restarted and then was unable to connect to Wi-Fi. No water damage, No drop damage. This phone is in pristine condition.

Went to an authorized ASUS service center and was told it was not worth repairing the motherboard as the cost would be worth 2/3 (~RM2000 = 440USD ) of the original price of the phone (~RM3000 = 650USD).

Is there an alternate solution to this problem? I am only using this phone for gaming and no other activities as it is a "Gaming" phone. I expected much more from Asus as the problem is clearly rampant in the community.

This also happened to me after updating to Android 13 and I am also out of warranty. If this issue was caused by my negligence in using the phone, I wouldn't mind paying for the repair. However, since the issue came from their system update, it is not fair to charge us for changing their faulty board due to their faulty update.
