proximity sensor does not deactivate

This bug started to occur after updating android 12.
When listening to audio on whatsapp and phone call,black screen.
Is there any way to disable the proximity sensor? Or a fix?

@ricardosaliba This is most likely not a bug, but rather specific app behavior that will kick in when audio is routed through the top speaker.
