Issue with developer options
This is how it is with codecs. You can't force it. Is it really a bug? Can you try with a hd Bluetooth device which supports those codecs, try enabling them from Bluetooth settings itself.

You have to leave developer mode on if you exit it will return to default I run mine with it on all the time cause I disable Bluetooth absolute volume setting. Apparently other phones are the same I did some research into it must be a safety thing encase you screw it right up lol.

cheers

Hi, you can try updating below software version:
https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/39004/201021-rog-phone-3-zs661ks-ww-17-0823-2009-98#latest
Also, you need to keep Developer mode on.
Developer mode is a experimental option and if you are not 100% sure of options I won't recommend you to change any settings
