My roommate has an ROG Zephyrus GU501GM for over 2 years now, it recently started giving him overheating problems after researching stuff he decided to replace the thermal paste and pads and it did not solve his issue.
The issue in question: the laptop does fine just browsing the web, playing 4K movies and shows, or other standard tasks, but if he tries to play a game it doesn't run as smoothly as it used to even on the lowest settings it will begin to overheat and the last time he tried to play an extensive game the GPU displayed it was at temperatures colder than Pluto [-32,638 degrees Celsius] which obviously isn't correct, is there anything that could be causing this issue or he could try in order to alleviate it?
