Touchpad stops working while holding a key; no inertia enable

========================
Detailed description:

1) While holding a key (other than ctrl/alt/shift, but rather any key like 'E" ) it takes a long time for the touch pad to react. I was going to say that there was no reaction, but I find if I leave my finger on and keep moving it it will eventually wake up and start recognizing gestures.
This is a gaming laptop; one would expect that the trackpad could be at least useful in games with no other devices attached... and this is unusable as it is.
2) There's no inertia enable for the trackpad, such that it will behave like a track ball, and short flicks on the touchpad should 'throw' the cursor with a decreasing speed.... Does 'Synaptics' have some sort of patent on this algorithm that somehow prevents you from implementing it? Why does noone have that feature? And why can't I get a synaptics touchpad by default anymore? Do they even exist (I think they dont...)?
