Phone note going to sleep when locked.

Frequency of Occurrence: has been happening for the last 2 weeks

My asus phone not able to sleep when I press the power button to lock.
I have set it to lock after 15 sec, however, it locks the screen but the lights are still on.
I have tried formatting and resetting but the issue is still there.
What could be the problem , because this is draining the battery.

Phone note going to sleep when locked.

If you have warranty for your phone go to asus service centre for solution.
It's clearly hardware problem, because no one is facing that problem except you.

What happens when you press it for 3 seconds ? Do you have the power menu appearing ?

When I press the power button once it locks but the screen light does not go off.

Locking but "screen light" doesn't turn off ? Do you mean you are redirected to the lockscreen with the padlock ?

Yeah the phone is locked but screen light remains on.
Please see attached video clip. Might not be the best quality though
