Laptop locks and can't start up - also cannot turn on again after forced shut-down

So I charged my laptop (ROG Zephyrus, running Win 10 while it was shut down) overnight. It was fully plugged in and correctly positioned so battery should have been at 100%. When I shut down, the machine was plugged in (i.e. battery at 100%) and the the display clearly indicated as such.

When I turned it on this morning, I signed in as usual but it suddenly said low power and locked. Now, the power button was still lit red, but I seemingly couldn't revive the machine. So I forced shut down (by pressing the power button) and now the machine can't start up again (nothing lights up)

Not sure what's happening here and would appreciate any suggestions.

Please remove peripheral devices from the laptop for 10 to 15 minutes.
Afterward, connect only the power adapter and check if the laptop can start up smoothly.
