[GUIDE] RGB Stuck on Static – Armoury Crate Fn+→ Fix (ASUS TUF F15 2022)

Issue: Keyboard RGB stuck on Static. Fn + Right Arrow not cycling lighting modes. Armoury Crate shows mode change, but keyboard stays static even after reinstall.

Symptoms

• Fn + → not responding

• Armoury Crate indicates lighting mode switch, but lighting remains static

• Reinstalling Armoury Crate and Aura Creator didn’t solve the issue

Root Cause

This appears to be a conflict between Armoury Crate’s background services and the LightingControl module. It may be triggered by silent updates or corrupted leftover files from a previous installation.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Fully uninstall Armoury Crate

   • Use the official Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool from ASUS

   • Reboot your system

2. Manually remove leftover folders
   (Administrator rights required)
   C:\Program Files\ASUS\ARMOURY CRATE Service
   C:\Windows\System32\ASUSACCI
   C:\Windows\ASUS

3. Reinstall Armoury Crate cleanly

   • Download the latest ArmouryCrateInstaller.zip from ASUS support

   • Run as Administrator and reboot

   • Do not update Armoury Crate immediately

4. Test RGB and Fn keys

   • Fn + → now cycles through lighting modes correctly

   • RGB changes are instantly visible in Armoury Crate

     Optional (Advanced): Prevent Future Auto-Breakage

     1. Block background update modules using Windows Firewall:
        ArmouryCrate.UserSessionHelper.exe
        ArmouryCrate.Service.exe This can help stop forced plugin updates.

        Disable automatic update tasks

        • Open Task Scheduler

        • Navigate to Task Scheduler Library > ASUS

        • Disable any ArmouryCrate-related tasks (e.g., UserSession, Update)

        Conclusion

        This method fixed my RGB lighting issue and restored Fn key functionality. Everything works perfectly after a clean reinstall. Manually blocking background update modules helps keep the system stable.

        Final Note

        Based on my experience, the latest version of Armoury Crate currently has several bugs and stability issues. Until ASUS resolves these problems, I recommend using a stable older version and avoiding updates for the time being.
