Asus RoG Strix Scar G834JYR-R6103W
Want to maximise the internal storage.
Getting contradictory answers from Asus technical support in different chats & emails!
My 7 year old Asus RoG G752VY-DH78k (Serial #: G1N0CY01C691045) had a Samsung Evo 850 SSD in its HDD bay for my D Data drive.
I want to reuse it, even though I know it runs at only USB3 speeds. I am getting conflicting answers from Asus chat, email and regions! - will it fit in my Asus RoG Strix Scar G834JYR-R6103W or will it not?
Are there THREE drive bays (?), of any kind, inside the Asus RoG Strix Scar G834JYR-R6103W?
Could I put two new fast 4TB SSDs into it AND the Samsung Evo 850 as well?
For a total of THREE drives and 10tb of SSD storage inside the machine?
That would be ideal.👍🏻
For the two new 4TB drives:
For the maximum speed, longevity, reliability and compatibility - what brand and retailer would you all recommend?
Thanks for the help.
Much appreciated
Spence

The G834JYR has two SSD slots, and the SSD specification is M.2 NVMe™ PCIe® G4x4.
You can refer to the specifications at the following link:
https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-scar-18-2024/spec/
Since the SSD specifications of your old laptop are SSD P3X4 256GB M2 2280 NVME S, I do not recommend using them in a mixed configuration.
It is advisable to consider using an external SSD enclosure.
Thank you.

ChsmatGPt with lots of real world evidence + many Asus support staff over the last two days that I can fit two 4tb each Samsung 990 SSDs into my Asus RoG Strix Scar G834JYR-R6103W. Just tonight, for the first time an employee called Fearlene says it can only handle 2tb a slot. What is the truth?
ChatGPT and other Asus colleagues were very convincing with real world examples but I don’t want to but useless expensive products.
I drive to Ciudad del Este, Paraguay 🇵🇾 tomorrow to buy them. Please help asap
thanks , Spence
