ZenWiFi Pro ET12 - The node ends up yellow with no connected devices after firmware upgrade

I could really need some help here because I'm starting to pull my hair out trying to figure out what is going on here.

I have a pair of ZenWiFi Pro ET12 routers. Yesterday, I was informed via the Android Asus Router app there was a new firmware available (3.0.0.6.102_36597). After upgrading both routers to this new firmware version, the router acting as the node ends up showing yellow rather than white and no devices connect to it.

I've tried to pull the power, reset first the router acting as node to factory default settings and then both routers when just resetting the node didn't help. No matter what I do it seems, I end up in the same situation after setting everything up again. With the router showing white color and the node yellow with no clients connecting to it.

What on earth happened here and what can I do to make my setup work normally again?

With big thanks in advance for your assistance!

No smart bulbs, but no issues noticed neither.

OK, thanks for the confirmation.

Maybe I'll give this new firmware a try when I find time for it.

Right now, I'm very pleased with the stable experience I have using 3.0.0.4.388_24542-g719e902 and I'm not even sure what benefits there are upgrading? When it comes to BIOS and firmware upgrades, I often hear people saying you shouldn't upgrade unless you're facing an issue which you know will be resolved using the new version.

I know as mentioned in a previous post how there were some security issues which were discovered but again, I'm not sure if you'll be affected when you haven't enabled access to your router from the outside 🤔

The security patch upgrades are not just to prevent malicious attacks from an outside force when you have the external accessibility feature enabled, but also strengthens security for services that push and pull data from services, like IOT devices that rely on a connection to the cloud to function. Not all products can function fully local, a good example are LIFX, Siemens or Kasa vendors. Some of which resulted in (partially) halted functionality on my end after the firmware upgrade that went haywire.

Got it.

Well, guess I'll give this new firmware a go but need to wait for having time to spend if the result isn't what I expect.

As mentioned before, during weekdays, I can't afford any connectivity issues.
