RT-AX92U 3.0.0.4.388_23749 Firmware Disables Internet Through WiFi

Hi,

I have an ASUS Router in Mesh mode. The router model is RT-AX92U, and the current firmware is  3.0.0.4.388_23749.

From the time this firmware was installed automatically, my router has not transmitted internet using WiFi. All WiFi connections say "Connected. No Internet."

If I use LAN ports for connection, the internet works fine.

If I use Internet Speed to check the ISP's Internet, it shows the full ISP speed for both uploads and downloads.

However, despite being connected to the internet, checking for a firmware upgrade from within the router GUI shows "The router is checking the ASUS server for the firmware update," followed by "The router cannot connect to the ASUS server to check for the firmware update. Please download the latest firmware from the ASUS Product Support Site and manually upgrade. Check on FAQ for more instructions."

Why does the internet not work through WiFi with this firmware? (No problems before this update)

Why does the ASUS Router firmware not connect to the ASUS servers to check for a firmware upgrade, despite having internet connectivity (as demonstrated by Speed Test using the router GUI)?

Regards,

Hi @eau ,

To help us accurately identify the cause of your RT-AX92U being unable to access the Internet via WiFi and failing to connect to ASUS servers after updating to firmware 3.0.0.4.388_23749, please help us confirm the following details:

  1. Is your RT-AX92U currently operating as the AiMesh main router or an AiMesh node?
  2. When your device shows “Connected, No Internet,” is the IP assignment correct? (Correct DHCP range, gateway, DNS, etc.)
  3. Please confirm whether the DHCP server is enabled on the main router.
  4. Is Smart Connect currently enabled? If so, please try temporarily disabling it for testing.
  5. Please provide your current WAN configuration (PPPoE, Automatic IP, Static IP, etc.).
  6. Have you already tried the following tests? If yes, please share the results:
    (A) Rebooting the AiMesh node
If the node becomes unsynchronized after an update, WiFi may fail to NAT properly.
    (B) Turn WiFi off → wait 10 seconds → turn it back on
This may reset DHCP and wireless drivers.
    (C) Roll back to a previous firmware
If you previously downloaded 386 or an older 388 firmware, please test whether the issue persists.
  7. If possible, please provide the system log captured at the moment the issue occurs.
If your network is down, the router UI may provide a link to download offline diagnostic data.
Please download the file, compress it into ZIP format, and share a cloud link for analysis.

Additionally, please send us the following information via private message:
• Product serial number (SN)
• Time when you submitted the feedback
• Email used in the feedback form
• The exact time the issue occurred
• Your device MAC address
• A network architecture diagram of your current setup (hand-drawn is fine)

Thank you for your cooperation. We will proceed with further analysis as soon as we receive your information.

The WiFi problem persists after upgrading to firmware 3.0.0.4.388_23763 manually.

I have the following Network Architecture

  1. 1 RT-AX92U Main Router in Double NAT mode with ISP Router connected through Ethernet on ISP Router LAN Port,
  2. 1 RT-AX92U Mesh Node (connected with Ethernet),
  3. 2 AC 1900p Nodes as AIMesh Nodes  (connected with Ethernet),
  4. 1 RT-ACRH13 Access Point (connected with Ethernet),

How do I send a Direct message?
