I an trying to connect a NAS to an Ethernet port on my X5400 router, but the router doesn’t see the NAS. Used to work on my AC86U, but I had to replace it.
To check the router port, I connected my laptop. The LED on the laptop port was yellow, Networking and Internet Settings show an Ethernet connection IPV4 address 100.99.164.12, default 100.99.160.1. My router IP is 192.168.50.1. Ipconfig shows media disconnected. If I enter http://asusrouter.com, I get server not found. If I enter my router IP, the connection times out.
The router works fine over WiFi. I can reach the dashboard by entering http://asusrouter.com or the router IP. Other WiFi devices are visible in the client list and can be accessed in File Explorer. The Ethernet cable, router and PC settings all check out. When I initially set up the X5400 via wired, I couldn’t get to the Dashboard or Quick Internet Setup. I was able to connect and set up the router wirelessly.
Any advice or recommendations will be appreciated.
