Hi,
Looking for some input on best practice on connecting these devices. I have an RT-BE86U, RT-AX86U Pro, and an RT-AX55, and an Asustor AS5202T. Its currently operating as such:
I am about to free up the RT-BE86 and do this:
The NAS is only photos and videos. My wife complains its not fast, and her laptop is currently connected via wi-fi. I am going to get an ethernet adapter for the laptop. My question is about a switch. Would I get better performance from the NAS if it was connected to a switch?

The router has 2.5 Gb ports; the router has an internal switch. There should be no performance gain using another switch.

As drawn the NAS appears to be connected to the router via Link Aggregation or LACP? That's probably best barring you purchase a managed switch that has LLDP function (as I recently learned not all do)...

Right that was the intent for LACP. The RT-BE86U only has (4) ports on it which is why I was considering the need for a network switch to hardwire to the other routers I own which would operate as access points through the Asus mesh setup.

Sorry I missed your response. Email notifications of responses get stacked/hidden because for some reason this forum also notifies me of my responses!
When shopping for a managed switch make sure it supports LLDP. It'll likely have a default VLAN but it appears I found a/the workaround...
EDIT- But you don't need a managed switch since the NAS is still connected to the ASUS router in the second picture....
