Can’t reach, unable to get AiMesh functional

Buk
Star II

This is my setup,

All AX86U Pro (primary) connected with  cat6 to the modem going to WAN of 86

From a LAN port of the primary 86 to the WAN port of another AX86U Pro (secondary)

All the white LEDs are on (power, 5, 2.4, and WAN) of both 86’s.

A thirds router a AX58U V2 is sitting a short distance away connected only wirelessly with only these three, white LED’s on power, 5, and 2.4. The WAN LED is not lit.

Checking all three routers, all indicate a status of “Unable to reach” and they all show the Network Name of the proper networks of 2.4 and a 5. I. I have limited, mostly zero, luck getting connected to the GUI.

Thank you for your interest. I haven’t tested the procedure described on that link, yet. Stepping through it I see a PC is recommended and I don’t have anything with RJ45 connection. So there would be at least one wireless connection, not a problem that I could envision. Again, thanks.

Hi @Buk ,

Thank you for providing detailed information about your issue!

Based on your description, your AiMesh system’s lights indicate normal status, but all three routers are unable to connect to the GUI.

We recommend following these troubleshooting steps:

Check AiMesh Node Configuration:

  1. Ensure that both secondary and third routers are set to AiMesh node mode (not router mode).
  2. Check the management interface of the primary router to verify if all AiMesh nodes are connected properly.
  3. If the WAN port of the secondary router is connected to the LAN port of the primary router, this might trigger a double NAT issue. Instead, try connecting the LAN port of the secondary router to the LAN port of the primary router (LAN-to-LAN connection) and set the secondary router to node mode. Perform a Hard Reset and Re-add Nodes:

  1. Perform a hard reset on the primary router and all AiMesh nodes. [Wireless Router] When Standard Reset Isn’t Working: Hard Factory Reset - Models list | Official Sup...
  2. After the reset, use the primary router’s GUI to rediscover and add the secondary and third routers as AiMesh nodes.
