BE30000/BQ16 Pro - Devices dropping to 2.4Ghz, will not reconnect to 5Ghz

Hi, fairly new system, as the subject states, many devices across all 3 APs dropped from 5GHz to 2.4, and I am having great difficulty getting them back. Essentially I have to take them offline, delete the record of the device in the offline client list, and reconnect them to get them back to 5GHz.  rebooted the network, no help. A simple device reboot, which normally would work is not currently. I was running on channel 36, when this happened I noticed some interference, have switched to 161, still having the issue. It seems like corrupt entries in the client DB in some manner. Latest firmware, happened to a Windows 11 PC, Echo devices, Ring cameras, some of these mere feet from an AP. Any thoughts?

Hi @CMitchell ,

thank you for reaching out.

Regarding the issue you encountered, we recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Try manually selecting a less congested channel for the 5GHz band, such as channel 36, 40, 44, or 48.
  2. Ensure that your router and all connected devices have the latest firmware updates installed.
  3. Temporarily disable other wireless devices to see if the issue improves.
  4. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider restoring the router to factory settings and reconfiguring the network. Please note that resetting will erase all settings, so be sure to back up any important information beforehand.
  5. We recommend first connecting only the main router with a single node to see if the issue persists. Then, gradually add additional nodes to identify any potential sources of the problem.

If the issue persists, please feel free to contact us for further assistance. Thank you.

Thank you! Firmware is current. I have just moved to channel 48, which sowed fully clear of interference, so we'll see how that goes. I did have it on Auto, also tried higher range ports, but there was always some interference on them. As for factory resetting, I've already had to do this once for a different issue, I will not continually do this, for a $1500 system. ASUS needs to do a much better job on their software.
