Asus RT-BE92U random loss of internet connectivity then comes back

I got the RT-BE92U for my parents now but occasionally I get a random loss of connectivity across all of my devices then it comes back after a few minutes. Not sure if it’s because I enabled ipv6 or the qos settings or the TrendMicro security service or MLO which is odd because the previous SBG7600ac2 didn’t have this issue or even my RT-ax58U at home didn't have these issues and lots of these features are turned off out of the box. Trying to pin down if it’s the new modem causing the issue or the new router. Modem is ES2251 from spectrum if it helps. I tried checking the modem diagnostics page but spectrum locks it out and makes it inaccessible.

I had a similar situation a few days ago where phones and tablets weren't working but my laptop was for some reason and the inbuilt speed test on the router was working fine but phones were not working and eventually connectivity came back. Not sure if it's a bug or something I set up wrong.

I encountered this many months ago on my AX86U when I updated my routers firmware. Couldn't determine whats wrong either as the thing that I just did is upgrade the firmware, nothing else. So I just downgraded to the last know stable firmware that I had before.  ATM, I updated to the latest again, thankfully, that firmware no longer has this issue. I suggest downgrade to your know stable firmware or try check the latest firmware. Asus routers settings/configs could be backup anyway, so porting the new configs to the new firmware on a clean install of firmware should be good.

A new firmware has just been released a few days ago that solves many problems that several RT-BE92U owners have had. The firmware is 3.0.0.6.102_37435 and I recommend you to update it as soon as possible.

I already am running the latest firmware version  3.0.0.6.102_37435-gdd27f25_1059-g807f7_BB0B and I still have the same issue.

I had Ai protection, QoS, apps analysis, Traffic Analyzer, MLO, and IPV6 enabled and I have high memory usage so I'm going to turn them all off and see if the situation improves.

Hi @jimmysofat6864 ,

Thank you for reporting the router issue.

To help us better assist you with the problem, we recommend that you check the following points one by one:

  1. Reset the router: We recommend that you restore the router to its factory settings (hard reset) to rule out software malfunctions. For detailed reset steps, please refer to the following FAQ.
  2. Heat issues:
Ventilation: Ensure that the router is placed in a well-ventilated location to avoid overheating due to long-term high-load operation.
Surrounding environment: Check if there are any other wireless devices (such as microwaves, Bluetooth devices) around the router that may cause interference.
  3. Wireless channel and antenna:
Channel selection: Try manually selecting a less congested wireless channel. You can find the channel setting option in the router's settings page.
Antenna adjustment: Adjust the position of the router's antenna to get better signal coverage.
    Internet service provider:
  4. Connection stability: We recommend that you contact your Internet service provider (ISP) to confirm that your internet connection is stable.
  5. Router logs: You can check the logs in the router's management interface to see if there are any abnormal records, such as connection drops, error messages, etc.
