I just bought the BT8/BE1400 (2-Pk) and after setting up, I found that no devices are connected to the 6GHz (I have a couple of WiFi 6e devices, MBA M4 and iPad Mini 7). What I also noticed is that there is an extra WiFi network appearing with a long string of text (like a hex code), I assume this is related to the 6GHz issue, but I'm not certain.
I tried creating a separate SSID only for 6GHz, but still the devices cannot detect this network.
Anyone knows the issue? I've been seeing similar issues with WiFi 6e routers, but I'm not sure if they're related.

Okay, so what I did is removed 6GHz to my main network (now only 5GHz) and I created a new network only for 6GHz. Then my Macbook was able to detect it! For some reason though, my iPad Mini 7 could not detect it.
I didn't do a factory reset. Really just the separation of SSID's per band.

The strange network is part of the added lanes and MLO features. Don't worry over it. The loss of the 6GHz is a problem. If you are running the latest firmware already and have done a factory reset, try turning on MLO in the main router. This worked for me when one of my mesh nodes dropped 6GHz broadcasting. This is likely firmware related. You should also try doing factory resets of all units first if you haven't already. Don't bother using a simple reset especially if you recently updated any firmware. Do the factory WPS reset. More than likely, your last Asus update removed options from the web GUI under the wireless>general tab that allowed manual control. Expect a future firmware update that will correct this.

MLO is turned on. I actually just got this today, and then updated to the latest firmware. Do you think I should still factory reset?

Yes. This seems to be a common step that needs to be done after ASUS updates now. ASUS is still working on MLO which could mean you need to turn it on or off depending on a firmware update.

Also, some 6e clients might not want to connect to wifi7. Check that yours are wifi7 compatible. You may also find a menu on your router that will allow you to set up a WIFI6 network if needed.
