Z590-e issues after updating bios

hidet
Star I

Hello all. First my specs:

Asus z590-e wifi gaming

I711700k

32 gigs ram (2 sticks 16)

2 m.2 ssd

Rtx 4080

So I been having usb devices disconnect all at once randomly every now and then.. decided to update bios. My dumb self didn't think it'd be a problem go from 1601 to 2001 bios. I now understand that I shouldn't have.

Anyways, now nothing works right. I get into windows maybe 2% of the time. And when I do it freezes or crashes. Or bsod.

When I load a game it acts like the cpu isn't working right or something very slow/laggy.

It will not let me roll back to 1601 bios. I went down step by step from 2001 to 1903 to 1801 to 1701 then back to 1801 just to see. Currently sitting at 1801.

Yes I upgraded Intel management before trying.

I'm at a loss... my mobo is still under warranty but I'm hoping someone somewhere has a solution so I don't have to be weeks without my computer. This is not just for gaming but for work as well.

Please any help would be appreciated

Hello, @hidet

May I ask if you also updated the Intel ME to the most recent version before doing the BIOS update?
For the ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI, the latest Intel ME version will be 15.0.45.2411V2.
Please refer to the [Motherboard] Intel® Management Engine Firmware Update Instructions(ME) for more detail information.
If you do not have the latest version, please follow the instructions and update it to check if the problem can be solved.
Meanwhile, we suggest you refer to [Motherboard] Troubleshooting - No Power/No Boot/No Display and test with minimal components to isolate the possible cause.

Thank you.
