NVME Not Recognized in BIOS

Hey, so I’ve just recently switched over my pc to using a new motherboard. When I enter into the BIOS my NVMe is not showing anywhere in BIOS. I feel like I have tried everything I can think of so could anyone offer some help.

Specs:

  • Asus b650-A gaming motherboard
  • Ryzen 9 7950x
  • Asus rog strix 4090
  • Samsung 970 evo

Things I have tried:

  • Reseating M.2
  • Clear CMOS
  • Updating to newest BIOS
  • Set CSM to enable
  • Fast Boot Disable

Something important to not is that I am using the 3rd m.2 slot which is connected to the chipset instead of CPU. I am doing this shameful because due to my PC being water cooled that was the only slot I could fit it in. For what I have read from the manual as long as I am not using the PCIe slot 2 this should be fine. Also this slot supports up to gen4 which is what my NVMe is at. Like I said I can’t think of anything else currently so any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, @sanbornshane99

Due to the ongoing local holidays in our area, my response time may experience delays.
I apologize for any inconvenience the delayed replies may have caused.

According to the ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI User’s Manual, as PCIEX16_2 and M.2_3 share bandwidth, M.2_3 will be disabled when PCIEX16_2 is in use.

We recommend cross-testing with other M.2 slots or trying different SSDs to confirm the issue.

Thank you.
