motherboard won't POST

So I had issues with the PC not starting up over the weekend. tried clearing CMOS, removing the battery and resetting CMSO but it did not work. I suspected the RAM so I waited for new one to arrive and meanwhile, I have left the PC fully disassembled, CPU, GPU and RAM out, and the PSU disconnected from the motherboard and the CMOS battery removed. Today I received a brand new RAM kit.

Before I installed it I tested the PSU with a multimeter as corsair recommends. I then put the PC back together with the new RAM and the PC started up, got to BIOS and things looked good.

I booted it up fully and went to the OS and updated it and that went fine, went through a power cycle after the update and all looked good.

I left it to have dinner and I'm back now and it won't start. the motherboard seems to be powered, the ROG LED logo turns on(see picture) when the PSU button is pressed on. Also a mobile plugged to a USB port does charge!!.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Hello!

I have a similar issue with my board as well, it worked the first time i got it, then stopped working as soon as i installed in a casing. No QLEDS, no display, just RGB lights lit up. I thought it must be PSU, but again, same issue with new PSU. cant even flash bios without display on my model.

im using Z790 TUF model

let me know if theres any update on your issue.

Hello @Mon1234

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the delayed response due to a public holiday in our region and any inconvenience this may have caused.
Could you please clarify if this issue occurred after the PC was first built or after using it for some time and occurred following any recent changes, such as a BIOS update or component replacement?
If the system fails to power on or the POST process, could you check if any Q-LED indicators are solid?
Based on the issue you described, in addition to ensuring that the BIOS is updated to the latest version and clearing CMOS, we recommend disabling Fast Boot in the BIOS and Fast Startup in the OS to see if the issue persists.

If needed, you may refer to [Windows 11/10] How to disable Fast Startup in Windows for further instructions.

Thank you.
