Extremely slow m.2 writes

I have a PRIME X670-P WIFI motherboard with two m.2 storage cards.  The read speeds are pretty good (>10GB/sec) but the write speeds for both are awful at 300 to 900 MB/sec.  Did I accidentally create a port conflict?

  • M.2_1 : PCIe 5.0 NVMe card
  • M.2_2 : PCIe 4.0 NVMe card
  • PCIEX16_2 : 10GbE card
  • SATA6G_1 : hard drive
  • SATA6G_2: hard drive
  • SATA6G_3 : front port (unused)
  • SATA6G_4 : CD drive 
  • SATA6G_5 : hard drive
  • SATA6G_6 : hard drive

It's a server so it's using only AMD integrated graphics.

  • CPU: AMD 7900X3D
  • OS: Ubuntu 24.04, kernel 6.8.0
  • RAM: 64GB x 4, DOCP-1 latency, 3600MT/s speed
  • BIOS: Just updated today

Hello @kmcmurtrie ,

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response.
According to the PRIME X670-P WIFI user manual, the devices you have installed do not seem to be affected by shared bandwidth.
If you have concerns, you can remove all devices and test the read and write speeds of the system drive and SSD individually.

Regarding the slow SSD read speeds, have you confirmed that all relevant firmware and drivers are updated to the latest versions?
Since the PRIME X670-P WIFI specification page indicates that the supported operating system is Windows, we suggest cross-testing the system drive to see if the issue persists.
