ROG2 phone automatically powering off when charger is connected
Is this while playing on the phone? If so, it's better to leave it charging and then play again otherwise your phone will heat up and restarts. If you have lower wattage charger, use that as it should generate less heat.
If none of the above works, then visit service centre.

So should everyone who faces this issue do a factory reset or go to the service center?
Since many of us are having this problem, maybe there's some issue with the software updates that Asus has been doing? Just maybe??

You can't tell whether it is software or hardware. There has been instances where this issue is resolved by software and some had to go to service centre.
So before going to service centre, do a factory reset. It will save you a trip going back there again.
