About this issue, I'm happy that devs identified the cause and confirmed a patch in coming week but the question is, Won't they do basic testing before deploying a update? Because this high temp and high CPU usage couldn't have gone through unnoticed if they tested it.
I got 26 hours of uptime with 26% of battery still left in my phone. 12 hours of youtube and 14 hours of idle time! I am currently on A9 which i downgraded from A10 few days ago.
Same here. I used to be good for a day with only 65% of the battery with day to day stuff. After an update to *2009.47 build Now my battery is draining by that much in just about 5-6 hours without doing much and I also feel more heat whenever I start using it
Thanks for spotting this. Yes, seemed to be a factor. When I force closed it, the CPU speed returned to 8xx Mb from 2.97Gb and the battery performance seems to return to normal. However, I have now seen that the phone has gone back to 2.97Gb, so will try and kill FOTA again... Done it and cleared storage and cache from the FOTA app, but the CPU speed and temperature not reducing this time....
Firstly, the new update .47 solved dropping of refresh rate (UI bug )
And Second, heating and draining of batery is solved atleast now for me by Disabling of Opti flex. This issue is not because of Google play store or services, but actually due to bugs in new update.

This is the cause... Force closing this would return it back to 8xx mhz 👍 I tried clearing the storage, hopefully it won't return.
"System updated" when search updates (with 2007.27) and zip removed from site.

After update iam facing same problem overheating and battery drain due to high CPU.
After several time finding to temporary fix the problem while waiting next update,
I try to disable google play store and restart the phone...it seems like CPU back to normal.
After doing some experimental i found that CPU will high and started heat and drain the battery after installing/updating apps.
So for the temporary iam using this method each time after update/installing apps
Install/update apps>disable play store>restart phone.
Iam keep searching if i found any method to resolve the problem. My ROG 2 under monitoring

How do you turn the annoying android 10 update notification every 2 hours?
Just swipe it from the notification bar and eventually it will go away.

I just solved this by switching off all app monitoring systems like:
Opti-Flex
Battery Draining Detection
App auto-start prevention
It helped me..
