Just going to pop in and let you know that we're aware that there are multiple issues being reported by users in this thread and that we've opened separate cases for them. (Google Play, Armoury Crate etc.) Our developers are investigating as we speak. We will address this and issue a new FOTA as soon as possible.
I am on the latest version on the firmware and I did get the high CPU and heat after the update.
I downloaded Aptoide and download Google Play Services and Google Play Store from there and used that.
I think APKMirror gives you all versions and not all versions will be right for the phone. My past experience is that it causes some of the apps unresponsive or closed forcibly. Also, updating too far will make the device uncertified in Play Store.
//EDIT: I have also managed to download apps from Play Store without it heating up/high CPU too and managed to play COD as normal. I didn't do disabling of HardwareStub.
Dont worry @shreyashshah16 , I am not offended. I am still trying to reproduce the issue again from what I have.
When I did the top command on adb when i had the issue, only thing i can see is the asus service process running taking 114% of CPU which was mentioned earlier on by someone. Dont know if that was HardwareStub too.
Not saying whats been found out so far is wrong, is just giving more information.
@ronald1985, yeah, there multiple issues as Gustav said, play store one, which common accross many devices and models, but that's not the only One, FpsCentralContr service issue (Part of hardwarestub) is more concerning, because it gets triggered by many things apparently, app installations, play services, AC, Fota and what not.
How do you downgrade? I downloaded the zip folder, put it in root but it's not picking it up when I restart my phone. What else do I need to do? Is it because the version number is older (before) that previously installed? Please advise @Melqui@Gustav_ASUS ?
You have to downgrade to A9 first and then upgrade to the last working A10 firmware which was .27.
I believe you lose data though.
If you can till wait next week, there should be a fix to this. I would give some of the suggestions on this post a try to minimise the effects of the issue.
Brilliant, thanks for the details @ronald1985 and @Melqui . I'll wait a week with the issue, if no fixes provided, I will downgrade. I really don't want to downgrade if I can avoid it though! Thanks again.

Thank you for all the detailed responses so far!
will it fix battery
The big battery drain issue? Yes. Because its the CPU at near 3Ghz draining the battery basically. THe heat issue is due to the cpu working overtime.

I wish I could believe you mate, but I can't, seen you replying to many people in different threads, with only one dimensional opinions and comments.
Plus including me and about 200 people on this thread and telegram group are facing this issue, may be just may be you are the "lucky guy".
No offense!

And 114% just broke match and physics 😂 btw @ronald1985
Yes I really disappointed this new update I every day use my phone on full day and 20% save
And I updated this virsion and 5:30pm full battery use fuck this update
Only "solution" for now is downgrade
Next week everyone, see above post.
Nothing that involves "data loss" is an ideal solution.
Next week the update to fix this:
Same shit here... OMG ASUS OMG

This is what you get for downloading updates so quickly 😁 😁. .. I have not updated yet and there r no issues..
It's Google Play Store which is creating heat. When u download/update app from play store.
Just check the armoury crate, it misbehaves temperature goes high.
Temporary solution is that just clear the cache of play store, armoury crate, and Google Play services and then restart your phone.
Here is my screenshot attached after doing it.
Note: Everytime i have to do
while i download/update app from play store.
