Rog 3 black crush is hardware issue. Screen is not upto mark

Giving people a battery centric feature doesn't solve your problems asus. Rog 3' screen is not upto mark. Its an hardware issue. You cant fix it with software. But, you can minimise its and distract users from this issue by adding new attractive feature . That's what asus is doing. And thats why rog 3 is being sent to third party developers like Lineage OS for minimising screen issues . Not gonna work asus. You need to take a stand and call all faulted unit in .

They are not admitting that black crush is hardware issue. Oneplus 8 pro had same issues but they are brave enough to accept it and giving replacement units to anyone experiencing this issue
No OnePlus did jack shit
Their forums and support groups are still filled with complains
And they have so many display related issues bruh black bar on punch hole, retention, black crush and uneven tint
So many guys that I know returned their 8pro's due to shitty display and all OnePlus did was increase minimum brightness
Their support guys gave diplomatic answers like it'll be fixed with updates but they didn't do anything, now it's like they have forgotten 8pro issues, their PR division is focusing on 8t launch
It's pathetic! Atleast Asus is trying to calibrate the display and the results can be seen..
Cmon, it's not an hardware issue, playing any video from the gallery gives perfect results. It's only inside some apps where the issue is shown and probably because the apps do something on their own.
With the new update the issue is not present anymore in youtube/twitch/prime video/disney+ (at least in my and my friend devices) because they fixed the behavior of the screen with such apps. Dunno about netflix, but if not done yet they might fix it in the next update.
If you have tencent version and still have troubles with those apps then they might just have used cheaper panels and the issue might indeed be hardware. tl;dr: don't buy knockoff
Atleast oneplus accept the return. So many users including me ,tried to return rog 3 within a week of purchase but they are cancelling returns unless its broken in shipping
I have global version . Infact upgraded from rog 2 . Rog 2 was great. Rog 3 should be awesome but its full of issues.
Hi @talwindersinghchahal,
Display and video quality will get better and better with each update. Fine tuning for all takes time as nowadays we have tons of different video Apps and tuning for all will take time.
ASUS ROG Phone comes with a overall package so we try to bring more and more feature with working closely on the existing ones. Appreciate your patience on this.
Wouldn't it be better to apply same parameter for all use cases similar to ROG Phone 2 instead of app by app basis? You should be well aware your dev team thus far have the capacity to push 1 to 2 fota per month. There are way too many apps out there, in no way it is feasible for you to tune for each. Not to mention the sudden dip of update for 1 fota every 4 to 5 months once ROG Phone 4 releases (as evident to current ROG Phone 2 update schedule), means any new apps will suffer from black crush issue for a long time.
Hey @KenWong
Its not 1 App at a time, the testing and FOTA has a different process as what you have mentioned. Be rest assured upcoming updates will keep the tuning level upto the mark.
People use a phone for 1 to 2 years, how long do you want them to hold patiance
On my phone in medium brightness the quality is completely unacceptable even for a 100 euros phone, they only ask for patience but this screen is garbage for the price the phone costs. This will be my last Asus.
Exactly. they should called all the faulty units and replace them
Right...
We are buyers not testers . You should test your phones completely before start shipping. Seriously , next rog will be a flop for sure .
I can accept a faulty phone it happens to every brand, but what is unacceptable is the way they are treating this issue.
Its been 2 months , they are still trying to fix issues but failed miserably. Lets assume they'll fix all the issues in rog 3 in upcoming 2-3 months which i doubt since black crush is hardware issue, so now we are at 6 months and there next phone will be on the way or other new smartphones on the way . Now a person who is upgrading every year for latest chipset is only being able to use a nearly perfect phone just for 6 months which he/she paid for a year ago . BAD EXPERIENCE. NOT BUYING ASUS ANYMORE
