Everytime I charge my phone It will shutdown due to overheating so now i have to put it close to my AC so that it will not shutdown due to overheating. Before the latest update it was shutting down around 70% after the update it comes down to 30% 👏👏. when I talked about this to the service center they told me to replace the motherboard and it will cost 27k.....what the hell !!! this issue is from your side and we have to pay for it...this is how you treat your customer you want to fix this issue or else I am done with ASUS
Comments
There is nothing wrong with the phone, infact the phone is trying to protect itself from heating by shutting down. It is the same for all phone really, when it is too hot, it shuts down.
If you can, do not use hyper-charging and probably better, don't charge while playing.
Have you tried turning the max down to 10 W
Hi Praju,
Please check your PM and share the requested details. Already sent you a PM long back.
I won't use my phone while charging bro..when i check if it's Fully charged it will be shutdowned...i am using the charger that comes in the box
Nope i wil try that now
Sorry i didn't see that i will sent it now
Sorry i didn't see that i will sebt it now
U also know that 80% of the users are facing same problem. Still defending. Dude what is your problem???
So you know when a device gets too hot, the phone shuts down right? OP mentioned he put the phone next to AC and doesnt restart, well that is normal.
The other thing is, this so called 80 percent, not all restart issue is the same issue. For example, my device was restarting because of a headphone jack going in when running Discord screen sharing. Some device restarts can be caused by hardware defects. If it is software, then you would have everyone complaining including me.
So do you still think I have a problem or you have a problem? Quit providing useless stats that you can not backup your claims.
I did respond back, just waiting for approval.
But in addition to what I have said, at least I and everyone else here are helping in getting more information and suggesting. Just because we are responding, doesnt mean we are defending lmao
What do you think, just a fanboy with nothing better to do spitting lies to defend asus of this clear problem with the motherboard.
I "fixed" this problem with BlackShark fan, I can play everything now or be in discord without shutdown.
I don't need an AC nor a fan to play on everything. He has an AC, he doesn't need a fan 😂
Here something you can read:
Good for you I guess you're one of the people that don't have the MB problem doesn't mean others don't have it.
Of course, I didn't even say this problem doesn't exists. Infact, I and Roystoys have suggested to use other charging other than Hyper-charging.
"If you can, do not use hyper-charging and probably better, don't charge while playing."
I did say, all restart/shutdown issues are not the same. For example, OP's issue is while charging, while some people are getting the issue while normal usage. So hopefully you can open your eyes and see what charging got to do with the heat and overheating causes the restarts/shutdowns.
According to @Aryan202 you're fineeeeeeeee. It's normal.
but seriously, as usual:
Replace the pm8150 chip on your logicboard and your phone will be fixed.
Both the R2 posts you have tagged me for mention "phone shutdown" or display blackout while gaming
No way a shutdown during normal usage/charging is normal let alone gaming
The original post was about "USB port getting hot" which was baked as a "feature" by Google in android 10
Aren't these different issues?
You're misinformed once again. The USB getting hot is something from ASUS. You're talking about this:
This is a feature that shuts off the USB port because of a short caused by water and to protect phones from shorted devices such as headphones or similair. The error in question is also different.
ASUS error is problematic because it's caused by the PM8150 chip overheating.
I see thanks for the info 👍
Found an article about it on XDA too
Let's see how R5 turns out then
