I am using Havoc OS. Performance is more better than Stock ROM. Especially these ROM boosts CPU , GPU to a maximum level. Battery performance is still good. It has smart charging which will stop charging after a particular percentage. I set to 100%. Once 100% reached phone will stop charging.

After installing Havoc Rom sound quality becomes better. Even there are options to customise it.

At present I didn't root the device. Whenever needed only I will install magix module for routing and uninstall it whenever not needed(Installer and uninstaller module is there online) UPI application works perfectly without rooting .

Even these lazy Asus tech people release Android 10 stable before I change my mobile , I am definitely not going to install it. After addicted to many features in Custom ROM , I definitely don't look back to Stock ROM

Havoc os is really good rom all feature are working

In case that someone is interested, I built all usb gamepad drivers for lineage os as kernel modules. So that you can just use insmod command as root and enjoy usb gamepad support. I can upload it somewhere if needed.
Now I don't need that stupid android 10, because I fixed all my issues myself 😉 And I'm affraid that asus wouldn't support features like 120fps video recording or usb gamepad anyway...

Hi, you will not get updates via OTA if you unlock the bootloader, It's better if you keep your bootloader locked, your warranty will be void as soon as you unlock the bootloader. It does not necessarily mean that you are rooted, the bootloader can be unlocked without rooting but the processes go side by side. You will not get any benefit if you unlock bootloader and do not root.

Asus max Pro m1 custom rom

I'm using Evolution X. It's working fine. Regular OTA updates are available. Soon it'll be running on A11
Other good ROMs- Lineage OS, Havoc OS, Pixel experience, Corvus OS.
Check out the features offered by these ROMs on youtube and you can decide yourself which one suits you ✌🏽

Even custom ROMs provide OTA updates(without delays). What's the big deal in it 🤷🏽‍:male_sign:
While the custom ROM developers are developing A11 based ROMs, you guys are still struggling to roll out A10 stable update for Stock Android 🤭
