I have an older Zenfone 8 that working flawlessly until today. Charged to 90% and was listening to a podcast on speakers when it suddenly turned off.
It doesn't turn on or charge. There seem to be many people with the same issue: https://www.androidheadlines.com/2021/11/asus-flagships-snapdragon-888-bricking.html
Now I want to send it in to get the Motherboard replaced and have a couple of questions:
- I bought it used in Japan and am now in Europe
- I don't have the original box anymore
1. How do I find out my serial number?
2. How to contact the official service center?
3. Am I able to get it fixed for free?
4. Where can I get parts if I want to repair it myself?
Thanks!

If there is no sticker on the back side of the phone and it doesn't turn on, then I think it will be pretty hard to find out the SN. Without any proof of purchase, the repair is probably going to cost you a lot, and Asus can't give you an estimate before they have received your phone.
Your best / cheapest option would probably be to find a reputable local mobile phone service shop and contact them, as Asus has shown to not care about their customers.
Anyway your data is probably 99.99% gone so maybe just think about getting a new phone, it will be simpler, cheaper and less stressfull. And the phone is guaranteed to be better than ZF8.

@matsch
Unfortunately, the warranty for our mobile phone products is a local warranty based on the place of purchase, not a global warranty. If your phone cannot start up or function properly, we recommend that you refer to the advice provided by other users. If you wish to have it repaired in Europe, there will be charges for diagnostics and replacement parts.

Also you can contact the local service center for help.
