Zenfone 8 camera not working, black screen

this is a recurring problem on zenfone 8 and other Asus phone's. I have read about it here and on Reddit. Disappointed that the Asus company didn't make any effort to resolve it along the years. Beware it starts with a focus issue and end's up without a functional camera. The warranty is useless because it expires if there's a visible fracture in the phone. It takes about a month or less to brake with the fragile glass back. Save your money for a company that consider in the costumers problems and issues.

My camera somehow died probably today. It's working when I try to take a picture with e.g.: WhatsApp but other camera app just hangs and I cannot take photos. I've seen posts that even factory reset won't help as this is probably hardware failure... sad as my warranty already expired.

The Same here. The camera is working if a photo is taken via watsapp but the cam app is black when turned on. Doesn't it mean it's software problem? anyway you can see here post's about similar issues since 2020 and no one at Asus thought about doing something.  Point taken.

Just so you know - the factory reset didn't help. Camera is still dead so it's definitely hardware issue.
