Usb-c to 3.5mm adapter

On the website it is written that the zenfone 7 Audio output only support USB-C® to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter with Driver Ic. What does driver ic means? Is the phone compatible with any adapter? I have a Split adapter to plug a 3.5mm and to recharge the phone at the same time and my phone says it is not compatible. Is it only because it is plit?

Honestly, removing 3.5mm jacks is the stupidest idea ever. This makes tons of perfectly good vintage equipment obsolete. What gives?
Zenfone is my first and last phone that I buy without 3.5mm. I did not realize how bad it is until getting one.

Not obsolete. Just buy a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter but make sure it has a DAC.

Most are just rubbish and now I cannot charge the phone while listening unless I buy another ghetto looking extra device. This is a problem that nobody needed. Oh, and don't forget to carry the 5 dongles with you... This is not OK.
