As far as I know, I finally experienced this feature on marshmallow and now recently I found it to be present in oneplus 7. That feature can help me use apps with different accounts which are not supported in the inbuilt dual apps feature. And this was just one of my way of using it, it may be useful when you hand over your phone to someone probably a stranger (who wants to call etc..).
