no mic on call

On the latest android 10 build (WW_17.1810.1910.68) the other side can't hear me on phone calls unless if I use a headset with a seperate mic, the built-in mic in the phone works though in the camera app and the recorder app, this is after a factory data reset and a reboot doesn't fix it, the same issue happens if I use the tmobile digits app instead of the asus dialer app by the way, I don't want to have to carry a headset with me at all times in order to be able to make a phone call

Thank you team, I know this topic is now covering 2 separate issues - but 3.5mm bug has been fixed 🙂
My meeting productivity restored - thank you so much!

I am on build ww_17.1810.1911.110, carrier is Tmobile, mic does not work, toggle to speaker, mic works but toggle speaker to off, mic stops working again. So no fix!?

It works fine for me on .119, try updating

Sorry for the late reply.

Speakers work fine.

Bluetooth headset works fine.

3.5mm with calls does not work anymore.

Ok here's my full list of testing

  1. Plug in 3.5mm
  2. Call voicemail (no audio)
  3. While still on call, unplug, plug back in 3.5mm (no audio)
  4. Hang up, keep 3.5mm plugged in, play "The Sopranos - The end of Jack Massarone" on youtube (audio works)
  5. Try and call voicemail again - youtube video paused (again no call audio) - toggling "Media Volume" in settings while on call makes a sound via 3.5mm headset

All headsets even my fancy Sony MDR1RBTs in 3.5mm mode no longer work.

Tried to get logcat logs relevant info from what I can tell it looks like it recognizes I plug it in, but I can't tell why it isn't working.

Telus (Koodo) is my telephone provider and I have no particular problem using my Zenfone 6. I have been using this smartphone for 3 months now.
Regarding the microphone problem during calls, remember to check first that the microphone is not blocked by dust. It happened to me.
