I tried connecting my hard disk to 6z, it didn't seem to work. It was a 1tb hard disk

I have seen in one of the forum stating that we need to format hard disk by fat32.

This is sad that Zenfone 6 does not support NTFS. My old OnePlus 5 works with NTFS

Yah! Even my older OnePlus 3 works amazing with a NTFS external hard drive. Maybe @Anders_ASUS could help us.
