Calls not received. Texts delayed.

Hello. Just upgraded to the ZenFone 6 (Edition 30) over the new year and notice that many calls from family and friends are going straight to voicemail. I tested this with a friend in the room, and out of 5 attempts, only 3 made the phone ring. Many important calls for business do not ring at all. I am using Ultra Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) and have done the usual run-around (reset phone, empty cache, check all settings for fowarding, DND, and such). Even on a fresh install, it is experiencing the same phenomenon. I tried a different phone and it seemed to consistently work...I'll keep testing.
I wanted to see if anyone else had issues with not getting calls or texts (irrespective of carrier) or if it could be just carrier issues for me. I have great coverage in my area, thus it is not like I am roaming or disconnected. Thank you for the help.

If you need more users to test on this fix also works rooted and there's quite a few users running it atm only change is a different mbn in this thread in xda:

If for the sake of testing, you can revert the phone to stock and test petterg359's idea, then I'd be interested in logging your phone as well. If the phone is *rooted* then that doesn't help our testing unfortunately.

Would the developers be willing to change the mbn for stock to allow the fix he is referencing, though?
I doubt they ever release test builds, but I'd happily volunteer to update to a newer version (maybe of 144) with just the mbn changed to give feedback.

I can be of better help next month when I am back at home with service. Right now, I would like to get Wifi Calling akin to @petteyg359 since my network provider does offer it. I'm not sure what is special about his phone. And it looks like this doesn't fix the delay in receiving calls either. We're concluding Wifi is causing this delay, correct?
I'm just playing catch-up on the real reason I started this thread 😁. Forgive me that I cannot help with logs at the moment...at least until I get Wifi Calling working.

As far as I understand what HQ is asking for, we don't plan to have test builds, but would appreciate if anyone is willing to try and recreate @petteyg359 's workaround.
