Rooted or not: Very Frequent
Frequency of Occurrence:
APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app):
After updating to latest version camera functionality is lost
1. Switching to Wide angle causes camera to freeze
2. Switching to Depth effect causes it to freeze

Camera functionality lost after update
Open calculator >press .12345+= > single test > wide angle camera test > see if you can click picture there and also hows behaviour of camera there. If test passes than there is no problem with hardware and you can follow below steps to see if those help 👇
Clear cache & storage of camera app by going to 👇
Settings >apps & notifications>see all apps>camera>storage >clear cache/clear storage>restart your app and see if this helps
Ifnot try to reset camera settings and check again by going to 👇
Open camera app>settings (gear like icon) >bottom scroll reset to default option> select Yes>restart camera app and see behaviour again.
If nothing helps than try to backup your important data and do factory data reset to see if that helps
Settings>system>reset options>erase all data.
For me there is no any issue with camera on latest firmware .123

Hi, we'd request you follow the below steps:
1. Check your phone for latest software version.
2. Go to Camera settings
3. Clear cache & storage of Camera App after backing up & disable/re-enable camera App
4. Try the same under safe mode:
Hold the power button for 5 seconds => When the screen flashes with option => Press & hold power option => You will get an option to restart in safe mode

5. If still you face the issue factory reset your phone after taking a full backup: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1006346/
6. Last option would be to visit the service center to have
a check. Locate here: https://www.asus.com/in/support/Service-Center/India

It's a very strange defect . Depth effect makes rear camera hang but works fine for front camera ..
