Pair with car Bluetooth ZP 10

When I pair the phone with the car's Bluetooth, connection with my carrier's cell network vanishes.  Is there a setting I've missed somewhere?

After some experimentation, it appears that this happens when the phone comes into range and connects automatically.  If I disconnect and reconnect manually the mobile connection comes up.  Not ideal but not the end of the world.  Interestingly, this does not seem to happen when it automatically pairs with other Bluetooths - only the car.  Possibly something tin the car's communication management system but didn't happen with my previous phone...

Some of the Android Auto settings require the car to "steal" the network connection from the phone to be used by the head unit. Maybe that's the issue? Try plugging it in via USB and see if it happens.

Thanks, will try that but the car's system (2014) is powered by steam and not AA...
